Men's Week - Ryan Mcginley

Photographer Ryan Mcginley made an impressive entrance into the art world with his photo series titled "The Kids Are Alright". In this series he used members from his youthful crowd of skateboarders, musicians, graffiti artists and gay, providing the audience with a look into their carefree indiscretions. Mcginley graduated from Parsons in 2000 and quickly made a name for himself by being one of the youngest photographers to have a solo exhibit at the Whitney. His subjects are usually shot in the nude and are given free reign to follow their instincts. Mcginley creates a world in his pictures which doesn't seem real but also has a shockingly raw quality, his subjects always seem so comfortable and Mcginley captures their lively spirit beautifully. His credits include Dazed and Confused, Rolling Stone, i-D, Vice, Levis and many more. He can also count Tilda Swinton, Haider Ackerman and Kristen Dunst as fans.

We're in love with the short film he shot for clothing company Edun S/S '12 collection.
